Bengal Classical Music Festival, an initiative of Bengal Foundation’s Music Programme, is the world’s largest classical music festival in terms of the number of performers on a single stage, audience capacity and duration. Since its inception in 2012, the event has been held every year, featuring legendary classical music maestros including Kishori Amonkar, Girija Devi, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Amjad Ali Khan, Shivkumar Sharma, Ulhas Kashalkar and Zakir Hussain, to name a few. The free annual public event has been held with the aim of creating, in the long run, a discerning audience with a taste for quality music.
